4/15/2014 - Convenience store robbery 14-508804LO
Amarillo Crime Stoppers needs your help with this week’s “Crime of the week”. On 4-14-14, at about 11:05 PM, officers were sent to the Toot  ‘n Totum Store at 3101 Plains on a robbery.  The employee was at the front of counter when the suspect entered the store.   The suspect appeared to be a white or Hispanic male.  He was wearing a blue jeans and a hooded black jacket. He was also wearing a grey hood over his head and a cloth over his face. The suspect demanded money from the clerk. No weapon was seen as the suspect kept his hands in his pockets. The clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect who then left on foot. 3/4/2014 - Red Roof Inn robbery 14-505172Vi

On 03-01-2014, at about 23:55pm, officers responded to the Red Roof Inn, located at 1620 E IH-40, on a reported robbery.  On arrival, officers learned that an unknown white or Hispanic male entered the front lobby of the motel and approached the front counter.  He placed his hand inside his jacket and ordered the clerk to give him the money.  No weapon was seen.  The suspect left the motel running west on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.  No vehicle was seen.  The suspect was described as 20 - 25, 5’8”/5’10” tall, and 170/180 lbs.  He was last seen wearing a blue ski mask, blue jacket, and faded black jeans.  He was also reported to be wearing white cotton type gloves.  There were no injuries and no arrests at this time.  If you have any information on the suspect in this case and wish to remain anonymous, contact Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 806-374-4400 or submit a web-tip at www.amapolice.org If your tip leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000!

2/25/2014 - 14-504524Je Hit and Run
On February 22, 2014 at approximately 11:47 AM, officers were dispatched to motor vehicle striking a pedestrian hit and run collision at West Amarillo Blvd and N Adams. Responding officers found that a 2013 Hyundai 4-door driven by Nicolas Ray Carr, BM, 25 had had been west bound on W Amarillo Blvd., slowing to turn north bound onto N Adams St. A pedestrian was walking east bound crossing N Adams. The Hyundai was rear ended by a white 4-door. The Hyundai then spun into the pedestrian. The white 4-door fled the scene. The pedestrian, a WM, 45 was taken to local hospital with life-threatening injuries. His name is being withheld until the next of kin can be located. Carr was uninjured. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Dept. If anyone has any information concerning the white 4-door with front end damage that fled the scene they are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 374-4400 or the Amarillo Police Dept at 378-3083.

On Sunday the 19th a subject entered a convenience store at 5901 S Bell, displayed a knife and demanded cigarettes and money. The suspect was wearing a green hoodie, dark gloves and his face was covered. 1/1/2014 - Robbery at 45/Western 14-500015Fi
On Wednesday morning, 1-1-14, at about 1:35am, a subject walked into the Toot-N-Totum store #46 at 4500 S. Western carrying a shotgun. The suspect fired a round into the ceiling of the store and announced a robbery. The two clerks gave the ...suspect money from the two registers. The suspect left on foot to the west then south from the store. There were several customers inside the store also. The suspect got an undetermined amount of money. No one was injured in this incident. The suspect can only be described as a white male, about 5’8” to 5’10”. He was wearing a covering over his face, a flannel type shirt, blue jeans, and tennis shoes. He had gloves on his hands. This is still being investigated at the time of this release. 3/26/2013 - Xcel Energy site thefts up to $5,500 reward

We have partnered with Xcel Energy to combat copper thefts committed at sites in and around the Borger and Hutchinson County area. Anonymous tips leading to the arrests of suspects who have stolen from these sites have been raised up to $5,500.
