2/25/2014 - 14-504524Je Hit and Run
On February 22, 2014 at approximately 11:47 AM, officers were dispatched to motor vehicle striking a pedestrian hit and run collision at West Amarillo Blvd and N Adams. Responding officers found that a 2013 Hyundai 4-door driven by Nicolas Ray Carr, BM, 25 had had been west bound on W Amarillo Blvd., slowing to turn north bound onto N Adams St. A pedestrian was walking east bound crossing N Adams. The Hyundai was rear ended by a white 4-door. The Hyundai then spun into the pedestrian. The white 4-door fled the scene. The pedestrian, a WM, 45 was taken to local hospital with life-threatening injuries. His name is being withheld until the next of kin can be located. Carr was uninjured. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Dept. If anyone has any information concerning the white 4-door with front end damage that fled the scene they are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 374-4400 or the Amarillo Police Dept at 378-3083.

On Monday February 3rd, at 4:47pm, officers were dispatched to the Texas Plains Federal Credit Union on a silent hold up alarm. Officers arrived within just a couple of minutes and learned that a male subject had just robbed the Credit Union and left west bound in a white Ford PU. The male suspect entered the business through the front doors and approached a teller. He kept his left hand in his jacket pocket and told the clerk that he had a gun and for her to give him all the money. The clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect took off running out the door. The suspect got into the driver’s side of a white Ford F150 PU and was last seen driving westbound on SW 8th Ave. The suspect is described as a White/Black mixed race male, in his 20’s, between 5’8” and 6’ tall, slim build, with extremely curly hair that was pulled down over his face, and wearing dark pants, a red colored shirt with a light colored possibly blue, goose down puffy type jacket. The suspect was last seen in a White Ford F150 PU with a possible front tag of 38WXD8. There was another person in the truck in the passenger seat however no other information is available on them at this time. On Sunday the 19th a subject entered a convenience store at 5901 S Bell, displayed a knife and demanded cigarettes and money. The suspect was wearing a green hoodie, dark gloves and his face was covered. 1/1/2014 - Robbery at 45/Western 14-500015Fi
On Wednesday morning, 1-1-14, at about 1:35am, a subject walked into the Toot-N-Totum store #46 at 4500 S. Western carrying a shotgun. The suspect fired a round into the ceiling of the store and announced a robbery. The two clerks gave the ...suspect money from the two registers. The suspect left on foot to the west then south from the store. There were several customers inside the store also. The suspect got an undetermined amount of money. No one was injured in this incident. The suspect can only be described as a white male, about 5’8” to 5’10”. He was wearing a covering over his face, a flannel type shirt, blue jeans, and tennis shoes. He had gloves on his hands. This is still being investigated at the time of this release. Around 5 PM on 12-07-13, a suspect walked into a convenience store in the 1300 block of SE 10th Ave dressed in a dark hoodie, designer jeans and gloves. The suspect displayed a gun and demanded money from the clerk. Photos of the suspect can be seen on our website.
